Booking Conditions
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Payment by you of a deposit shall be deemed to be an acknowledgement of reading and acceptance of the conditions of any booking or travel arrangements made with Travelscene.
2. Travelscene may cancel, suspend or postpone any scheduled departure or vary arrangements of any travel if in its absolute discretion it decides that the welfare of any person is at risk due to war terrorism, unrest, or other perceived dangers, strikes or other causes beyond Travelscene’s reasonable control. In such an event Travelscene shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising there from.
3. Travelscene will not accept responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage howsoever caused outside of Australia and all such travel shall be at the customers own risk.
4. Travelscene does not own, manage, control or operate any airlines, bus operators, shipping operators, hotel operators, arrange charters and make catering arrangements. The providers of such services are not agents of Travelscene but are independent contractors over whom Travelscene has no control and Travelscene accepts no responsibility for any claims, for damage, injury, delays, or loss of any nature arising out of, or incidental thereto.
5. Travelscene advises that overseas travel may involve risks and uncertain outcomes over which Travelscene has no control, which the customer accepts and acknowledges.
6. Travelscene under no circumstances will be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which may result from any use or inability to use, or failure to avail of any goods or services, accommodation, tour, or other benefit provided by, or arranged through or by Travelscene.
TRAVELING OVERSEAS
Participants in our tour packages are encouraged to travel with an open mind, active curiosity and thoughtful courtesy to others. We believe that it is very important to maintain a positive attitude towards the people of the host country, their culture and way of life. Lodging and meals, particularly away from large metropolitan cities, may vary and be different from what you are used to at home. Enjoy them with a spirit of adventure, which is the reward of foreign travel. Travelscene reserves the right to refuse service and/or terminate the participation of any tour participant whose health or mental condition or physical infirmity impedes the operation of the tour, or whose conduct is discourteous to others. Travelscene welcomes passengers with disabilities or special needs provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all assistance required. Any special requirements must be advised at time of booking. Travelscene reserves the right to refuse to carry any person who it deems cannot fully care for themselves on tour without assistance. You acknowledge that some cruise ships not have elevators and where there is an elevator onboard it will not access all decks. Cabins and bathrooms have significant thresholds and cabin doors and restrooms are not wide enough to allow access by standard wheelchairs. Wheelchairs and walkers cannot be carried on coaches, due to space limitations. Wheelchair passengers should be aware of these limitations. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to a passenger for walking, dining, getting on and off coaches or other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. Travellers who need such assistance must be accompanied by a qualified companion. Travelscene reserves the right to refuse service and/or terminate the participation of any tour participant whose health or mental condition or physical infirmity impedes the operation of the tour, or whose conduct is discourteous to others.
PRICE GUARANTEE
In the event that currency fluctuations affect the price of the booking, we reserve the right to adjust our prices as necessary at anytime prior to full payment being made.
DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS
A non refundable deposit of $200.00 per person is required within 7 days of the booking being made otherwise booking is subject to cancellation. Balance is due 45 days prior to departure unless stated otherwise. For bookings made within 45 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of confirmation. Credit Card fees apply to any payments.
CANCELLATION AND CHANGES
All cancellations must be made in writing. The following is an indication of the cancellation fees:
Over 45 days: $200.00 per person per tour- 45-1 days: 50% of total - Day of departure: 100% of total.
If booking is paid in full anytime prior to 45 days of departure, airline cancellation fees will apply in addition to the non-refundable deposit. No refund is granted for unused accommodations, meals, or if cruise ships alter their itineraries. Any changes to original booking will incur a fee of $25 plus any additional fees imposed by the airline.
AIRLINE TAXES AND CHARGES
Airport taxes and charges are subject to change until airfare portion is paid in full. Once payment has been made for airfare portion, any changes to airfare will incur a fee if flights are available. Travelscene recommends airfare portion to be paid in full 7 days after confirmation to avoid paying any increase in taxes and charges imposed by the airline. Taxes and charges are subject to change within the 7 days of advanced payment date. If you decide to pay in full for the airfare portion prior to 45 days of departure, fees will apply incase of cancellation in addition to the non-refundable deposit. Any airfares booked outside the tour package must also be paid in full within 7 days after confirmation. Conditions of airline taxes and charges apply to all airfares booked through Travelscene Oakleigh. If airfare portion is being paid by cheque, taxes are as of the day cheque is cleared by Travelscene’s bank and therefore if airline taxes and charges increase during this period you will be required to pay the increased amount. If airfare potion is being direct deposited into our account, a receipt needs to be presented to our office on the day payment was made. If this is not done taxes will be as of the day it is shown in Travelscene’s account. If there is an increase in taxes between this time, you will be required to pay the increased amount. Please note, Frequent Flyer points are not accruable on Singapore Airlines flights booked in conjunction with the Exotic Egypt Tour.
AIRLINE SCHEDULES/TOUR ITINERARIES
Travelscene does not have control over airline schedules; for this reason travel itineraries are subject to change which may result in additional costs to passengers. Reservations made on Egypt Air are given in advance; however, actual flight timings cannot be confirmed prior to departure. They may also involve very early departures.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend full travel insurance against cancellation charges, baggage loss and medical expenses. Travel Insurance is not active until paid in full. It is your responsibility to advise our office if you wish to cover any pre-existing health conditions on your insurance policy. Travel Insurance rates quoted and/or invoiced are subject to change until insurance is paid in full. Please check with your doctor for recommended vaccination requirements.
NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR PRICE
The tour price does not include tipping, departure taxes and charges imposed by a third party. Passports, Visas, vaccinations, excess baggage, and meals not included in the itinerary, optional excursions and all items of a personal nature, such as, telephone calls, laundry and beverages unless stated otherwise.
DOCUMENTATION
Final documents, vouchers, air tickets (if package is purchased as an air/land package) and general material will be forwarded approximately 2 to 3 weeks prior to departure provided final payment has been received.
LAND CONTENT
No refund is given for services not utilised. Hotels or Cruise ship specified on the itinerary may be altered for similar if necessary. Hotels advertised are subject to change to similar standard. Tour itinerary is also subject to change. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, Travelscene reserves the right to substitute hotels and cruise ships and to alter itineraries.
OTHER BOOKINGS
If Travelscene has made any bookings outside of their Exotic Egypt Tour it is your responsibility to obtain the wholesalers name and their booking terms and conditions which you must abide by once a deposit has been made.
SINGAPORE STOPOVER
Please refer to Singapore Airlines Stopover Program for booking conditions. Singapore Airlines Stopover packages are subject to change even after full payment made.
COMPANY RESPONSIBILITY
Travelscene is not itself a carrier or hotelier, nor do we own aircraft, hotels or coaches. The services that Travelscene supplies consist of arranging and coordinating accommodation, tours and transfers, making bookings and issuing vouchers to be redeemed by suppliers. We exercise every care in the selection of reputable airlines, tour operators, coach operators, hotels and other suppliers of the various travel services used in these tours. It is important to note, therefore, that all bookings with Travelscene are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by airlines, coach operators, hoteliers, and other service providers including but not limited to shipping, rail, car hire and restaurant operators, whose services we utilise, some of which limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss of damage of baggage. We always do our best to ensure your holiday arrangements are satisfactory, and we accept liability for, but only to the extent of, any loss or damage sustained by you as the result of our negligence, or that of our employees or agents. However Travelscene does not accept any liability of whatever nature for the acts, omissions or default whether negligent or otherwise, of those airlines, coach operators, shipping and cruise companies, hoteliers or other persons providing services in connection with your tour arrangements pursuant to a contract between themselves and yourself (which may be evidenced in writing by the issue of a ticket, voucher, coupon or the like) and over which Travelscene has no direct and exclusive control. Travelscene does not accept responsibility in contract or in tort (actionable wrong) for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or other events which is beyond its control, or which are not preventable by reasonable diligence on the part of Travelscene, including but not limited to war, civil disturbance, fire, flood, unusually severe weather, acts of god, acts of government or any other authorities, accidents to, or failure of machinery or equipment, or industrial action (whether or not involving our employees and even though such actions may be settled by acceding to the demands of a labour group)
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY
You should familiarize yourself with any health or visa requirements that may be applicable in the areas that you intend visiting, and you shall be responsible for all entry, exit, health and other documents required by law, regulations orders, demands or requirements of the countries visited or transited. You shall carry a valid passport at all times. Passport, visa and vaccination requirements are not our responsibility and we are not liable for any loss or expense due to your failure to comply with the above. It remains your responsibility to ensure that these documents are in order and to meet any additional costs incurred, as a result of failure to comply with such requirements. You accept that you may be travelling through areas of political or climatic instability, high altitude and remote areas of political or climatic instability, high altitude and remote areas without proper medical services, and accept the associated risks. The making of a booking constitutes your acceptance of all booking terms and conditions as described herein and forms the basis of your contract with Travelscene.
